82-225 /6 flywheel?

82-225 /6 flywheel? - 01/19/22 01:51 PM

thought I would confirm it is /6 specific before I toss it in the scrap pile.

130 tooth/ 10.5 clutch

wondering if it will work on a 318 to save some $ it looks to be neutral balance?

if it is /6 specific then the search for a 318 130 tooth/10.5 clutch & bell housing continues.

TIA

The 6-bolt 130-tooth flywheel fits all V8's (except the Hemi) and sixes from '62 into the early 2000's. Only difference is internal/external balance.

Thanks John!

sounds like I can use it and save some cash. as of fact that save enough to get the gasket/seal kit & the 833 rebuild book I need. most bells I am see online (at reasonable pricing) are for the 130 tooth flywheel/10.5 clutch & are for A-body so the next hurdle is the input bearing retainer sizing. I will measure my 833od retainer tonight to get started.

do you change the bearing size to go with the smaller retainer?

Depends on the retainer bolt pattern; some retainers will work with both bolt patterns, some not.

I see my 435 has a large retainer with a smaller 4xx" bolt pattern and my 833od has the large retainer 5+" bolt pattern so they do not swap for sure.

so far about the same price on the Lakewood cast alum bell for SB & BB 833/833od/tremac 5 speed are 400$ -/+ and a mopar A or B-body SB 833 bell goes about 400$

thinking I will go for the bell I found for a 72-body SB 833 bell about 200$ and have the retainer hole opened up for the 833od retainer or just get a rebuilt B-body 833 trans to fit the 72 bell with out modifrying it.
