Seems a big claim, maybe twelve times larger useful life than current batteries.

Would be especially useful in taxis and pickups

I ain’t buying it. By the time someone actually verifies it, tech will have changed so they can basically say so what? We were wrong back then.

This would be huge for the re-sale value.

If they offered a warranty to go along with it, this could be a game-changer.

These are apparently LiFePO₄ batteries, which have always had pretty decent longevity (measured in charge cycles). But, they've also always had lower energy density, so they were too heavy to really be useful in a car.

It would seem that they've found a way to increase the energy density to where it is feasible to work in a car.

I remember going to a talk around 1993 on Li batteries. I was not interested in Li batteries but the abstract of the talk mentioned that metal carbides would be discussed, and I was testing many metal carbides in a lab at the time.

During the next 27 years how much more can Li batteries be improved?
