shift selector indicator - 02/13/20 03:19 AM

I have an '86 D-150 automatic 360. The shift selector indicator is off about 3 letters. Is there a procedure or tech article about the process of resetting it?

if you don't have a service manual, get one. it is your best friend. other than that, drop the trim part that the fuse box clips to and then drop the part under the steering column. move the shift lever and watch the cable move. bend the tab very carefully and you should be able to bring it back around to correct position.

Sounds like the wire for the indicator has slipped of a pivot point.
