Like the 4.7, keep oil changed-clean. I go 3-4 thousand between changes.

I thought the 3.7 was base off the 5.9 engine???

The 3.7 shares parts with the 4.7. You may be thinking of the 3.9. The 3.7 should have ohc and alum heads etc.

I would recommend doing the timing chains, guides and tensioners NOW, once those pieces of plastic guides start falling apart (has nothing to do with oil changes just cheap plastic don't belong in a hot engine) they can cause all kinds of havoc. They usually start going between 100,000 and 150,000 with a rare outlier going farther. Do the water pimp while you got it off. At my shop we charge straight up $750 for the whole job but all my guys have done so many they can do it blind folded now, most shops hear the noise and tell you to get a new engine and most won't even touch the inside of one.

did a tuneup yesterday check out the plugs ..if i remember how to post a picture.. i found out this truck has a jet performance module .. do i need to open the gap on the spark plugs?? it running great now just wondering...

I always run an NGK plug and gap it about .005 bigger than the sticker on the hood says, a bigger gap makes a hotter spark and the individual coil will have no issues firing the bigger gap. Use dielectric grease in the plug boot and make sure both are super clean.

I run Champions in everything I own. The old plugs look just plain worn out. If it was running great, I'd buy new ones of the same plugs that you took out.

got the ngk to see how wellthey hold up! I alway had good luck with champion in the past! this truck got a jet preformance module on it do i need to open the gap on he plugs?

I'd say gap them at .045 and go.
