02 2500 Cummins 2wd front wheel bearings . . .

Just curious if anyone has changed/serviced front wheel bearings on a TWO WHEEL drive 2002 2500 Cummins ?? Are they a complete bolt in (if you replace everything), or you service the bearings and use new seal and spindle nut (seems like it is the nylok style one time use??) . . .

Around 97 all the lighter 2wd trucks started using a sealed front bearing hub that was replaced as a unit. I haven't worked on the "newer" stuff, but can't imagine they would not have the sealed bearing hub. Gene

My 2wd ‘03 1500 I replaced the hub and bearing as a one piece unit. I think yours can be bought as complete part or, bearing assembly separate. Take a look at RockAuto, for part info and pics.

I’ve replaced several. My 05 dodges and my 07. Comes as a complete package don’t get the really cheap ones. I’ve heard of short service life on those.

I can see now that you can get the complete hub/bearing assembly . . . what about those "Nylok" nuts ?? I have not been able to find those - dealer only item ??
