Dakota inner tie rod

Dakota inner tie rod - 07/22/18 04:57 PM

I’m changing the inner tie rod on an 88 Dakota 2wd. It looks like the part that screws into the rack has been swaged for lack of a better term in place. I’m guessing I need to cut this part off to spin the tie rod off? I don’t see a nut to put a wrench on like the new one has?

You could try a "How to" search online and see if there is a video for it. There are vids that cover most everything.

I used a large crows foot at work for all I did.Even the ones with a rivet came off. Some are just peened when they are installed.Always use locktite when installing. They do make a tool for them.Has different sizes that you put in the tube. Rocky
