Sweptline lwb overall length?

Sweptline lwb overall length? - 07/01/18 11:51 PM

Wondering if it'll fit in a 20' enclosed trailer and I can't seem to find the information anywhere online.

It's a 69 D100 long box.

Also does it weigh about 4000 pounds with a 318/auto? Seeing some conflicting information out there.

My former 68 D100 was 205.75" with no rear bumper. The front bumper on a 69 might stick out a little further or maybe it tucks in closer to the body. Either way it should fit.

I've never weighed one but 4,000 lb., or less, is probably accurate for a D100. Some have said theirs weighed around 3600 lb.

I towed my 69 D200 in my 20' enclosed trailer for 15 years with no issues. I did have an escape door on the drivers side of the trailer. It was the only way I could get in and out of the truck as there was no way to do it otherwise... penguinwalk

Got it home. Escape door was too far back but was able to squeeze out the window. About to go do that again to unload it!

Description: Here's a pic of it.

Hah!

Now to give it a good once over and fix a bad trans filler tube seal issue.

Been doing a bit more digging into the truck. I thought the engine might have been replaced because it was blue but it does look to be the original. The quadrajet carb kind of threw me off as well.
The date code on the side of the block is a bit weird, but the block is a 2536030-318-4 and the stamping on the front EW318R27400064 indicates it is a 69. I'll have to check out the vin pad to be totally positive.

Other than that, I've fixed the trans filler tube leak, changed the motor mounts and swapped the wheels around. Need to fix door locks, and make some rails to mount passenger seat (or put in a bench).

I'm really tempted to put in the 451 stroker motor I'd intended to put in the belvedere....

Blue is the correct color for that engine. 69 was the first year for Blue. I don't think there is a VIN stamp on truck engines.

Good to know. One of the sweptline sites and a couple of other sites were saying still red. Quick google image search confirms blue.

lol...it would be funny to list stuff like that just to see.

On the other hand the foot pump washer is worth actual $$. Or the Ahooga horn.

Did they just relocate the factory in-cab gas tank to the bed and hide it with diamond plate? Interesting idea.

Looks nice,

Here is mine.
