04 dodge , cummins no crank - 05/18/18 06:13 AM

Went down to the hardware store, came back out , turned the key, nothing. got dash gauges, dings when the key is on , lights. Turning the key to start nothing changes, no dimming, no clicks. Got it towed home. Figured it was the ignition switch , changed out the electrical unit. Nothing changed. Good batteries , clean and tight cables, could the starter just stop working????? but there is no draw on the system when the key is turned to start. Where to look next?

I had the same issue with my 07 6-speed. "No bus", the connection between the cab and the engine compartment gave up the ghost. Took a long time to find, had to replace wiring and the main connectors. My 04 automatic truck was a Laramie and had a bus issue also. I would get a message on the dash that said "no bus", but it would always come out of it after a while. May have something to do with the junk TIPM too. work

Starter relay under the hood. Try swapping them around with the horn or trailer relay.

Well I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is I got it started and running, the bad news is I don't know what I did to make it start. I swapped around a lot for fuses, relays everything that had anything to do with the start and run sequence. I opened and closed a bunch of plugins, looked at a lot of wires, didn't find any corrosion anywhere. I even pulled the starter and had it checked , still nothing. Then after some more probing it started and runs. This makes me a little leery as if it happens again i'll be out in the middle of nowhere with no idea of what to look for again. Thanks for everyone for your input
