I bought the Firestone Ride-rite air bags for my 2001 2500. I had to cut out some of the plastic inner fender wells, just so the bags wouldn't rub on them. I usually only fill the bags to get back to my original ride height when towing. Rides perfectly normal doing this. Think the most I've filled them was 50psi. 100psi is max in these, so you'd need quite the load to require that much pressure.
They say to have a minimum of 5psi in them, and this makes it a noticeably rougher ride when your empty. This would be my only negative issue with them, and now I'm pretty much use to it anyway. Other than that, I think they're great. Eliminated the trailer from wondering around behind the truck, and keeps the truck level.
I ran the schrader valves to each side of the license plate. Figured I'd keep them separate for any uneven loads.
