'72 D100 motor mount orientation - 02/04/18 05:54 PM
Putting a 360 in a '72 D100 & not sure which way the newer style motor with the safety built in is suppose to be set up. This is the way they fit by just sliding them in. I feel like they should be rotated 90* with the safety part to the back but if I rotate them 90* they are in a bind so maybe that answers my own question.

As said they need to rotate 90 deg cuz you want the maximum contact between the mt and the isulator & for the nub round bump to locate/fit in the hole in the mts. what is binding? are the mts (& biscuits?) on the right side?
frames will have 2 sets of holes for the mounts up till 87 also so make sure you are hitting the SB holes.
1 set is small block and 2 set is for a BB.
make sure mounts are on correct side of block lugs and biscuts need to turn 90* to line up correct.
sit the engine down on engine brackets without the biscuts to figure out which way the brackets bolt to engine block.
then raise engine install the biscuts.
valve covers are tight at firewall when correct.
IS the trans mount bolted up? if it is pulled forward enough it wont bolt up. the engine mounts are wrong if trans mount is off.
I set the trans mount first, then let the engine down on mounts
