Roller motor upgrade

Roller motor upgrade - 12/31/17 03:21 PM

Time to start on my other truck now that my “Hot Rod” D150 is done. Having a 1990 318 built with swirl port 714 heads and a comp 262 HR-12 cam. This ones getting a performer intake and a Quadrajet carb and all the emissions equipment plus a/c are going to be retained. I already have mandrel bent head pipes to a flowmaster scavenger Y pipe and 2.5 single in dual out tailpipes so exhaust flow shouldn’t be an issue. With the a999 transmission and 2.71 gearing this thing should knock back 20 mpg or more.

cool beans.. glad I am not the only one wrenching on trucks.

I swapped in a spare 318 and missed a PR in the rocker cup.. ouch! wiped the lobe/lifter.

100$ found a reman 318 .030 flat tops/#302 heads that was in a JY with no vc/intake so no warranty. but.. only needed to replace the pan/pump couple lifters due to rust.

so I swapped in a 88 TBI roller cam/lifters all new gaskets.

painted my front clip while it was off as well.

prepping doors next while I fix the wiped flat tappet engine up with the whiplash roller cam for round 3 LOL!

According to their website, they are still being made. How much are you trying to get for it?
EDIT: sorry, didn’t catch that it was a roller cam right away.
