Possible clock spring? Does the lite in dash stay on?

I'd buy the tipm from a dealer near you, you can install it yourself. After it's hooked back up you turn the key on for 12 seconds, turn it back off, start the truck as normal. Remember you have to push the fuse in for the airbag module. What I do is go through and push all of the fuses and relays in to make sure and all should be good. Are you having any other issues?

My truck kicked the cruise off when the "service 4wd" light would come on.

Does the speedo quit when the cruise does? The reason is a speed sensor will cause the cruise to quit also.

No other issues--at times cruise light works will come on--set cruise--all good then green cruise light goes out --no cruise
wait push on off button--nothing--then in a minute it starts working again
all other items work fine
dealer said switch so I replaced it --no diff
wiggled and pushed all fuses--nothing
Horn and all other items on steering work so guessing clock spring ok?
It is just the cruise--works sometimes them not --will not stay on and work more than a few minutes
Thanks for ideas--it is driving me crazy
No codes shown at the moment

Does it work better if you hold the pedal up? Maybe the switch located there?

Check the brake light switch.

When this happened in our mini van, I was told it was the clock spring and that it also affected anti lock brakes.
I have driven most of my life with out either of those functions, so I just blocked the lite on the dash.
Several years later & still no issues.

dash light might come on for a while--then goes out--it is hit or miss if it will stay on or not but only stays on a while then pops out/off

Tried brake light switch --Nope--replaced switch in steering wheel --Not that either

Horn and all other stuff on steering wheel works so could it still be clock spring?

What about the TIPM? Do I just need a hard reset--like attach the battery cables together for an hour or so to reset--does that work will it help/ can it hurt anything? Wiggled all the fuses etc no change

TIPM replacement. Hood it up, push the airbag module fuse in the rest of the way so you don't get an airbag light, turn the ign key to the on position for 12 seconds, turn back to off, turn back on and start the vehicle.

Yes on the clockspring question. Everything but cruise could work and it still be bad. It has a number of different circuits in it.

Re: RAM TECHS HELP 08 CRUISE INTERMITTENT - 01/02/18 05:16 AM

Car sitting still turn CC on (dash lite on) turn steering wheel back and forth lite turn or hard watch for dash lite to cancel if it does Clock spring is bad. Clock spring get the most wear in the 11/12/1 o'clock position. Also it tilt wheel move that up and down wiring to clock spring may have a split.

I don't think the cruise will come on unless the vehicle is moving above 25mph.
