Are all Keggers the same?

I have been entertaining the thought of pulling a Keg intake from a JY truck. The Kegs are fairly inexpensive at the JYs. I would add the Hughes plenum repair kit to it in anticipation of needing to fix one or two different trucks.

I have a '96 5.9 and my son has an '01 5.2 truck. I want to do this simply to save time while doing the job.

Maybe different for egr vs. non egr? Aside from that I dont know.

There are differences that matter like EGR or not as well as the number and size of the vacuume ports on both sides of the manifold.

There are differences that don't really matter like how big the divider in the plenum is or isn't.

As far as performance they are all about the same.

I wouldn't use the hughes plate, they are aluminum and as such will conduct more heat from the hot oil slinging around on the bottom of it to the air going in the cylinders and the problem is bad enough as is (causes detonation and reduces power). Maybe get it ceramic coated on both sides or something if you just have to have it but in my experience you can seal the plenum with getting it very clean and oil free and adding a light coat of "rightstuff" to both sides of the gasket before installing it.

I believe the mopar replacement gasket is steel instead of fiber to prevent the gasket from sucking in again.

Keggers are keggers and nothing really does anything to improve performance.

Best bang for the buck right now is the Hughes airgap dual plane EFI at $650 for performance gains

Well, there's the kegger out in the woods, then there's the kegger down by the river. Lets not forget the "Mom and Dad are out of town" kegger.

I have never heard the Magnum intake called a kegger. I've been used to hearing it referred to as the "beer keg" intake.

the hughes air gap kills low end TQ without tuning, I have no personal experience with one that has their special tune for it, but I have done a few that noticably lost low RPM TQ and gained high RPM but whatever you do don't use it as a bolt on for a truck you haul weight with or even just a heavy truck with 3.55 gears like a quad cab 4x4.

Model years 1992-1995 have a center divider that comes within an inch of the plenum plate. This probably slightly increases low rpm torque but decreases higher rpm horsepower and volumetric efficiency.

Notice that 1992-1995 beer barrel intake manifolds inject all the oily PCV flow into the passenger side of the plenum so that it ends up in the driver’s side cylinders increasing carbon deposits on the piston tops. Compare to 1994 V10 system?
