2008 ram 5.7 auto. shifter problem

2008 ram 5.7 auto. shifter problem - 11/25/17 02:50 PM

I been expermince problem with my shifter on a cold morning..I have to played with it to get it to go into gear after it warms up no problem.. well ever once in awhile.. do i need to replace the brake switch to correct this problem?

next time try pushing the brake pedal firmly then move the gearshift. But then the switch could be out of adjustment. They might try and tell you it's not adjustable but you can. Sometimes when driver exits they bump the back side of the pedal and wack it out of adjustment.

Go into gear or to get it out of park?
Did the '08 have the same problem as my '06 of the bushings in the brake pedal mount breaking apart and allowing the brake pedal to move side-to-side? work I noticed that sometimes if I wasn't pushing straight down on the brake pedal that the brake lights did not come on. blush

If you haven't already figured it out, I would grab the brake pedal and see if it moves side-to-side. If it does, that may be the problem.

I'm having the same problem with my 2005 3500 dually. I can barely get it out of park no matter if it's warm or cold!
