D-200 lug nut ?

D-200 lug nut ? - 08/18/17 12:07 AM

Need tires for my '76 D-200 and 16.5"ers are not an option.
I bought some aftermarket wheels.
Got them from Summit.
They don't show Chrome lug nuts, just stock replacement ones.
However, I can't seem to find chrome lug nuts for this application.
Also wondering about spacers to get hub-centric mounting.
Anyone know the thread and pitch and a possible source?
Thanx.

Should be regular 1/2" studs, don't think they still used left hand thread by 76.
Note, factory studs are usually too short for aluminum wheels. Mag style lug nuts are available but imho a little iffy if you're going to load it up.

Got more information on the wheel themselves? Those will dictate lug nuts more than the truck.

Thanks for replying.

The truck is a 3/4 ton unit.
I thought the studs were the bigger size, but just checked with a tap and you are so right. blush
I feel like a dope. whistling

No problem finding those.
I have a set on the way. up

Half and most 3/4 tons we're half inch studs. Most one tons and some 3/4 used the 5/8 studs.

Iirc they do make mag style lugs for 5/8.

Thanx for the help.
I got it sorted out now and 32 chrome lug nuts are on their way.
Any idea about this part?

I wouldn't worry about hub centric rings, I have never ran them and we used aftermarket and Ford wheels on our D350 SRW with stock 1/2-20 studs. With many times over the legal load limit on a monthly basis. But if you are concerned search for hub centric rings. Or as a suggestion on summit racing

Stock steel wheels for these trucks were hub centric. Most aftermarket wheels are lug centric.
Do you need spacers? If so I'd skip them and just get wheels that fit correctly.

Lug vs hub centric is one of those arguments that can go on forever. I'm ok either way.

I know that a lot of aftermarket rims, such as the uni lug, are lug centric.
I guess I'll bolt 'em up and see how it goes.

Thanks for the link, and opinions guys, very much appreciated.
