Re: new rims new tires - 03/24/17 03:26 PM

getting the 85 fixed back up a little.

these 10" rims fit with the stock 9 1/4 little tight but no rubbing.

the E-body 8 3/4 will pull them in 1.5" each side and will be centered in the fender well. will make the tract width same front and rear also. right now you can tell the rim edge is out more than the front fill the fender hole up nice though.

I go fishing/hunting as well as daily driving it street duty.

I fish in Lachoochee Fl on the Withlachoochee River in the Whithlachoochee State Forest. all dirt roads and boat ramps.

ride the main grade and loops in Richloam/Green Swamp and when it is rain season it is one long mud strip to play on.

plus they wear a long time pulling street duty and bark real loud on pavement when scratchinfotraction!

I had a nv4500 5 speed granny 1st/od5th with this 3.55 locker/SSM lift bars which made it a slow brute & fast highway flyer.

first was the complete re-wire of the truck to a nice 86 uncut/burnt/spliced engine/dash/chassis harness.

now it is back to new CRT-TF-2 VB/727 auto E-body 8 3/4 coming soon are the 275/60/15

88-360 head 318 4v police engine converted to a whiplash roller cam ready for this summers down time.

new doors and paint for Christmas if I am a good boy.

John, so its both? Black rims AND RWL as a combo or NO to each all together? blackwall out?

I did white 8 spoke last 2 times and can't stand them. blackwall or RWL even with a chrome trim ring. tired of polishing alum rims.

maybe I can change your opinion with more of my idea of the whole picture maybe not.

still a NO Even with 2013 dodge dart r/t citrus peel pearl paint I picked up yesterday?

will be running a Black wall M/T Sportsman SR radial front and rear. with E-body 8 3/4 pulling them in an inch from the fender lip as opposed to mud tires tight against it now.

Green and black = with hood/cab/bed hot rod black with the 4 fenders 2 doors/steps/tailgate green.

as well I am interested in your opinion on the Black/Yellow 440 truck. not for everyone I know, so your honest opinion and now with more info still a NO?

any other opinions?

I am just tired of the 32 yr old factory green it came with. so time for a change.

NO to either. Ruins the appearance to an otherwise attractive vehicle.

what style rim would you suggest? the stock gray 8 spoke with factory center cap and trim ring?

can't do the white spoke myself.

How bout a twist on the Macho theme trucks? Maybe get Ace to help with stripes. I think your rim/tire combo is fine, just doesn't pop like yellow letters.
I think King Bee looks fine as is. wave

I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinion. Old pick up truck, original (looking) paint, lowered, big fat mud grips, big fat bumper...what's not to like? I think it's very cool! But then, no one asked my opinion...

that's kinda the way I see my truck too.

that is also my idea with the color paint I picked.

black with the green either painted up like a macho truck or a Rod Hall/Walker Evans Baja truck.
