'08 Dakota Catalytic Converter Questions - 11/18/16 01:53 PM

My truck has started throwing codes for bad converters. I've done some pricing and Walker makes a direct fit replacement set for a good price (through Amazon). But my buddy with the repair shop said that even though he's only done a few of the late Dakotas, the Eastern brand ones he got through Rock Auto were "the only ones to work right and not give me any trouble".

I'm mainly looking for advice about good vs. bad brands, and any other tips or info that you would think relevant.

Thanks!

Walker = good stuff in my book. Muffler shop "fit alls" = something to get it inspected and shortly afterward sold to me. We went through several of those before we found the Walker, so far so good! thumbs I know nothing of your shops preferred brand.

Make sure the converter is bad. My truck was throwing PO420 and it ended up being another issue. If it has overheated is usually is discolored. http://www.easterncatalytic.com/education/tech-tips/the-misleading-nature-of-the-po42o-code/
