Started my turbo build - 11/13/16 05:02 AM
So I have most of the parts I need.
Truck is put away for the winter.
This is the starting point.

Re: Started my turbo build - 11/13/16 05:07 AM
After looking into headers for a small block mopar(all along I figured I would be making my own anyway),I will start with a set of small block chevs.
So these are what I started with.
They needed stretched at the out side tubes, the centers were good.

Re: Started my turbo build - 11/13/16 05:11 AM
After stretching them,I cut off the flanges, shaped the tubes to fit a set of mopar flanges, now I have them tacked into place, set to weld them up(need to get stainless wire).

Maybe less money, how about the power adder 1200, $1500.00?

Re: Started my turbo build - 11/13/16 05:46 AM
The 2x4 power adder kit I believe is around $2200,big expense for me.

Re: Started my turbo build - 11/13/16 05:58 AM
More equal distribution with single in, I dunno Moparborn: you ask the Unlawful Boys what the scoop is.
Either way, I like what you got going on.

All the major fab work is done now a lot of small details.
Installed the oil cooler, finished mounting master cylinder and lines, mounted the fuel cell.
Description: Due to its location it should still get a good amount of air through it but not restrict airflow to the intercooler and radiator.
Description: Not my first choice but it was here and free.
Description: just need to bleed the system.

Re: Started my turbo build - 01/15/17 10:35 PM

Well having some issues with the fitech, surprise surprise.
Intermittent spark(tried two different distributors),will have to troubleshoot this.

Re: Started my turbo build - 04/22/17 02:34 AM
We are up and running.
Will get video tomorrow.
Was getting rf interference to the fitech, must insulate and isolate the wires for the distributor trigger.

Re: Started my turbo build - 04/22/17 04:55 PM
Good to hear. I know when I put in my EZ EFI, I had all the wiring isolated. Separate power sources and grounds. I had heard of so many people having problems with installs, and much of it was the way wiring was routed. Glad you found your problem. Interested in seeing your video...

Managed to get a few minutes to work on the truck this weekend,it is running pretty good for sitting in the garage.
Now to figure out the tuning, timing curve and retard, fuel map.
If I can get a dry weekend to put some miles on it.

Re: Started my turbo build - 05/14/17 05:03 PM
Hit the road Saturday, ran good, had to tweek it a little, still will need adjustments.
Start up still gives me a little attitude ,have to open throttle a little ,starts up rich, prime set at 50,will keep dropping it.
Put about 2 pounds of boost to it,pulled good ( a little smile),then ? ,it started popping and running rough ,i am thinking bad things, get back to the garage, checked it over, relief, two plug wires came loose and melted on the headers, will not let that happen again.
Now to find out why the afr goes to 19-23 when letting off the thottle(not under boost),seems a little too lean for comfort.

It should go lean when engine braking above about 1200 or so rpm. The injectors turn off.

Re: Started my turbo build - 05/20/17 04:20 PM
Made it to the first cruise of the year.
Pleased with how it ran, still will need some tweeking as I go,I am not pushing too hard too fast, but it is pulling good, only put about 3 pounds of boost to it,no obvious lag.
