"Special traction rear axle" 8 3/4 truck rear end question. - 10/13/16 04:20 AM

Hey guys, I was looking at a 72' D100 short bed today and I noticed this sticker on the dash that appears to be factory. Does it just mean it has a sure grip? Has anyone seen one before? It has an 8 3/4 rear end. [img:center]http://[/img]

Never saw the sticker before. I would expect it to mean there was a sure grip in the 8 3/4, but it could have been special ordered with something else. Gene

Was that a former military/forestry/law enforcement/government truck?

I've seen stuff like that on fleet spec'd vehicles but never on a "regular" vehicle.

My suspicions exactly. I have seen that in Army surplus trucks.
