98 grand cherokee LE 5.9 4x4dome light?

it has a timer on the inside lights and they do not shut off.

I can play with the slide dimmer switch and the dash lights get bright and can get the relay to click lights off but instant back on.

is there a fuse I can remove to disable the inside lights?

or where do I start looking for the relay seems to click over on pass side some where.

I did find a fuse box over on pass side lick panel.

Does the locks and p/windows work correctly? Could have a broken wire in the door to body harness. Dome lite wire maybe grounding out causing the lites to stay on. Just a thought.

yes, windows and door locks work.

I fooled with them a while last night and they finaly went off in about 30 mins.

today I notice they do not come on during the day light..maybe a sensor for the auto light mode on headlight knob.

I lookin for a Chilton book for it now.

I waiting for dark to see if they come on and go off or whats up with it tonight.

so far today it been ok with them staying off so far.

electrical problems will get the 5.9 transplanted into something else at worst case.
