08 ram 1500 2wd great truck bought new--120k miles--have serviced tranny once--noticed it has started a slight 'shudder' when dropped into reverse--no big deal but feels like a slight slip more like very slight shudder
whats up? what do i need to do if anything thanks for the help

Have you tried getting a hold of member John Kunkle? He is one of several excellent transmission guys here!

'08 has the RFE trans, I know less than zero about them.

SHudder in reverse on an RFE most likely is clutches in the reverse pack, or really dirty fluid.

That tranny is honestly not that hard to rebuild. Just pay very close attention.

Reverse only has IIRC 2 clutches and 1 steel, there is a pair reaction plate on top and bottom of course.

I know if you load test a 545RFE to hard in reverse it will disappear without warning.

It is not really bad at all and fluid is good
I have the "lifetime powertrain warranty" and the truck has all service records and passed the check up atthe dealer before the 100K mark so I hope that warranty would cover any failures in that dept--most would not even notice it --I am not afraid of it --guess I will not back my loaded trailer uphill
