CD stuck in deck 2003 RAM

Today while listening to a CD in the stock system in my 20013 RAM 1500 the unit went dead mid song. I tried to eject the CD but it just wont come out. Any ideas on why it just go bad like that and how to get the CD out of the deck?

Did you check fuses etc? Maybe try pulling the radio fuse and see if resets.

The deck is working, just wont eject. You can hear it trying to push it out but it wont go. I dont think its a power issue.

sort of a common problem. you can slap the dash, above the radio, while trying to eject it. otherwise, just wait for it. i have one that steals discs from time to time. sometimes a slap gets it back, sometimes it decides to give it back, days after.

I've got one that sticks sometimes too, can't remember which vehicle. I stick another CD in the slot and bump the edge of the first one that's stuck. Sometimes bump it more than once. It has always then come out. Be VERY cautious about slapping the dash on a Ram truck, they are well known to shatter when the plastic gets brittle. Particularly bad on Gen II rams, '94-01 (+'02 HD). Not so sure if this applies to newer Rams.

I tired all your ideas but to avail. I disconnected the fuse, I beat the crap out of the dash, I used another CD to help get the first CD out, but now that one is stuck.....

I made a Valiant effort anyway!

How about a pair of tweezers or hemostats to grab it with?
