2010 Power Wagon rear axle trouble - 03/04/15 07:05 AM

My 2010 Power Wagon finally started to get a bad vibration, only has 42000 miles. Dealer found rear driveshaft U-joint bad, still had vibration, found front axle u-joint bad, still had vibration. They put different wheels and tires on, change to another drive shaft. Still had vibration. They finally listened after I told them, it was a u-joint bad or one of the axles has a bad bearing or ring and pinion going bad. Now the rear axle is going to be rebuilt, so far the bearings are bad. Some dealers will not listen. Sure am glad it still under warranty.

When you claim a vibration to me that associates u-joints, drive shafts, tire balance. A bad bearing should be a hum or drone noise and may change on acceleration or de-acceleration. Sounds to me like they corrected some issues and the final issue is a noise.

Did you buy this truck new? I can't see these issues with a truck of that mileage unless it was abused. Not accusing and yes there are lemons.

Update, rear axle is rebuilt, dealer replace carrier bearing and axle bearings, still have problems, now they think it is in the transfer case. I bought this truck new. The truck is not abused. Truck see's more towing time then anything, I haul 6 ton a coal a year with it, 1 ton at a time.
