2000 ram van trans problem

My 2000 ram van left me stranded- tran workied fine- stopped at a light , when accelerated out felt sluggish- checked park brake- went about 1/2 mile and won't move. Engine revs, van doesn't move-
Fluid level correct. Van has only 61000 miles- trans serviced regularly- Is a 3/4 ton
Mopar friendly shop is checking it out
torque converter? trans? AOD controls?
Worked it hard the last coup;e months moving...

Any thoughts- similar experiences?

Have you tried to move the van again after it left you stranded? After sitting, if it will move for a short period and then stop again, the filter is likely plugged. Plugged filter means the trans needs to come apart to find the cause of the debris in the filter. Even with the electronic controls dead the trans will still move but not shift. Easiest thing would be to drop the pan and look to see what has settled to the bottom and is stuck to the magnet and go from there.

Was it making any unusual noises?

no - nothing unusual or our of ordinary at all until I tried to accelerate from light....

The shop dropped the pan expecting debris but nothing at all- fluid a little dark and a little burnt spell. Pulled trans- torn down and found nothing... going to talk to a shop who does only trans for insight- maybe torque converter?

Lip seal let loose would be my first thought.

Probably lost the pump; not uncommon and, typically, gives no warning.
