How hard is it to do this? Do I have to remove the window crank and panel to accomplish this?

On my '06 you take 1 screw out of the small cover above the door panel. I would think an '07 would be the same.

Once the screw is removed from the triangular area at the top corner of the door panel you can pull it out enough to get to the two hidden nuts. The front nut of the three is out in the open on the door frame. If you need to take the panel loose to get at them just remove the door handle with a T40 torx driver and lift up on the panel DO NOT pull straight out or you will break off the retaining tabs. You don't need to remove the panel completely to get at the mirror nuts. Whole job shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

The triangular cover comes off seperately (at least on mine).

I just did the drivers side mirror on my 03 and the triangle was part of the door panel. Maybe the newer ones are separate. That sure would make things easy.

The triangle part is part of the door panel on this one. I also have wind up windows. I understand taking off the handle with the torx head bolt but what about the handle? Does it just pop off?

Did you take the screw out of the triangle piece and gently pull it out to see if you could get to the nuts with a 1/4" drive ratchet and short socket? If you do a how to search on line you can find all kinds of videos showing you how to do repairs. Like this one on handle removal.

Stumpy, the triangle piece is part of the whole panel on this truck. I could cut the piece separate and get to the nuts but do not want to do that. I also cannot get the triangle out far away enough to access the nuts and remove them. Looks like i am looking at removing the handle(what size torx head???) and crank to pull off the entire panel

Took whole panel off but was not too hard!
