1997 Dodge truck wiper issue - 10/22/14 01:22 PM
My 1997 1500 has an issue where the wipers go up then bind, and the motor hums as it tries to return to 'parked' position. If you nudge it, it follows through to the end and parks. I took the cowl off thinking there was an obstacle in there, but there's no blockage. The motor is working? Because it's trying to return. Is this common? The transmission seems free to turn. I just don't want to buy a motor and find out the problem still exists. Anyone experience this?
Thanks, mike

Thanks man. We've got a 1995 parts truck, know if the parts interchange?

You are right. I looked on Rockauto and they're different part numbers.

Bored the other day and swapped the '97 motor out for the '95 and they both have the same pigtail. Works perfectly. Maybe the '97 was built early, or the '95 later but they did interchange. Weird.

grease the joints on the transmission linkage while your in there. Each one will get dry & start to stick a bit and add friction to the whole system.
