It will interchange with an earlier (87-90) hub and rotor, 5 lug/4.5", the front is the easy part ...

Well thats easy.I have a extra abody 83/4 housing was planing for the rear but dont know if its wide enough.Maybe a ford 8.8 would be a better choice being I dont have a center section.

Easiest is to swap axels and brake drums to five lug. No plumbing to change, no drive shafts to mess with! no ubolts to buy, or braking bias change. It takes about an hour to pull the cover and r and r the axel assemblies.

ok this is a 2wd drive short bed truck that will be a street strip effort for my now 13 year old. With left over parts that i have it could run high elevens. So im trying to build the drivetrain and get the in and outs of the dakotas.

I used a 65-67 B body 8-3/4 on my 92 Dakota. Fits perfect with an 8" wide wheel.

Only had to move the spring perches a tad

Re: 91 dakota front hub - 08/04/14 04:54 AM

when looking at the 2000 dak sport my son had, it had the springs on top of axle with the perches at the 43" centers.

same as my 88 d-150 with the A-body 8 3/4 tubbed for 12" rims 4.5 backset. 29x15x15 M/T

I have saw lots of the B-body housings in Daks but running a 8" rim.

I think it would tubb and tuck 12" rims with the A-body 8 3/4 like it does in the 88-440 truck.

94 jeep Cherokee 8 1/4 has 43" perch centers/axle under spring and same width as A-body 8 3/4. we used the perches to line up new weld on perches for axle over spring tubbing/tucking 12" rims in a d-100

if the Dak has the 43" leaf spring centers it should fit A-body 8 3/4 with 12" rims in the fenders same as my 88 d-150

we did a lot of measuring the day we looked at the dak and that's what we came up with. but also figured a 10 rim would be ok as well.

just happed to have a 94-jeep 8 1/4 at the time we pulled measurments and used it in the d-100.

I would be looking at a 8 3/4 going 11s with sticky tires

even a c-body or truck dana 60 will fit under the dakota--they use a higher offset wheel----i have used an older 9.25 from under a van with the 4.5 pattern...

The Dak does share the 43" spring center, same as the trucks, and A body.

I'm currently running Cragar Soft 8 wheels, on the '67 B body housing.

Picture shows the way it fits with a 295/50/15 on the rear. Front are same wheel in a 7" with a 4.25 backspace.

that B-body and rim package you have is what I see around and very popular.

I cant wait to get a A-body 8 3/4 with 12s tucked with fattys under a Dak

that B-body looks good but fats is where its at
