Successfully Overhauled my 46RE - 03/09/14 04:46 PM

Feeling pretty good on my first overdrive overhaul on my daughters 2001 Ram 4x4. Lost 1st gear 3 weeks ago. When I got the overdrive unit apart I found crispy critter steels and clutches. I went ahead and replaced the torque converter and replaced the plastic accumulator piston with the aluminum one with two extra seals. It was a chore, but I took my time on disassembly and reassembly. Also replaced the transducer and solenoid in the valve body that set off the check engine light and also caused the hard start condition.

Cool! Where did you get the kit? Not cheap even doing it yourself.

Maybe. If you pull it out, and buy all the parts and reinstall it.
