Just bought a 1997 dakota. I was told it has a "Dakuda" kit on it. It has the shaker hood setup and "Dakuda" nameplates on doors. Guy i bought it from said it originaly had different wheels and a bed cover on it also that was part of this kit. Any history on who was making these kits? thanks

Maybe a local or regional dealer add-on package?
I've never heard of any.

There's a guy here where I live who has built two of those. He sold one & tried selling the second before it was finished
It found it's way to the Pick N Pull last year

seems to be, you just add a hoodscoop from an e body (see how many have challenger scoops, not cuda scoops) and call it a dacuda. i doubt any dealer made this, as a legitimate offering. (don't forget to add any old type of decals you can imagine, to finish off the illusion of having a dacuda.)

I've seen a red one off and on the last 5 years in south Orlando. Last time was about 3 months ago. Other than that, I know nothing about them.

Go to summit. Order yourself an $800 shaker hood for a Dakota. Then order some decals. Slap it together, viola! Instant 'Dakota cuda retro aftermarket package'
At one point you could even buy a 'cuda roll pan' the these trucks with cuda style exhaust tips. There's a few out there that pop up on the forums now and then.
