got me a new work truck.

I spent most of the summer looking for a new winter beater / plow truck after I decided to retire my old jeep comanche last spring.Wound up trading a 98 chevy cavalier I had bought 3 or 4 yrs ago for a 1990 w 250 4x4. Ended up rebuilding the cooling system, brakes and doing some body work but wound up with a pretty decent winter ride so my good truck can stay out of the salt. I got to put it to the test this morning. Out of the 7 guys in my shop my old ram was the only thing that started and got to work on time in the -15 degree temp. Might have to give it a bath this weekend

WOW! A 1990?
I never plowed with anything that new before! My Newest Dodge plow truck was an 80 chassis under my 50 cab, and before that was the old 77. I have never had a problem with my old Dodges starting when it got cold. Many years ago we had a string of about a week of consistent -25 to -30 temps. The only 2 cars on our whole block that would start were my 2 Mopars.
If you can get it in where it can dry off without freezing, get it a bath. The seals on the doors like to freeze them closed if they freeze before they get dry.
The salt kills them, but the new stuff they cover the roads with around here is worse then the salt. Gene

I had an 81 w 150 years ago and that thing was rock solid for reliability in cold weather to. I was a little apprehensive of this one because it had been sitting about 5 years before I got it but it seems like a good one to.
