Aftermarket Wheel Recall, Moto Metal 909 series

If anyone out there has a set of these wheels, or knows someone with a set, PLEASE READ!!

These wheels have been RECALLED! I just got a call this morning from the dealer I bought these wheels from back in 2010.

The Moto Metal Skull wheels in the 8 lug pattern are being recalled. They are cracking around the center hubs, and coming off the vehicle.

As far as I know this recall is only for the 8 lug wheels, in all diameters. This is all the info I have so far, I will be getting more info in the mail Monday.

Contact the manufacturer, or the store you bought them from to see if your wheels are part of the recall. As I understand it the recall will be allowing you to replace these wheels with your choice of any of their (Wheel Pros) current designs. But That is just the info I got via the phone call this morning. I am waiting for the official paperwork.

This has been happening for a few years now, I surprised the company finally admitted there's a problem.

im gonna look at the set in the showroom at work tomorrow. ill be suprised if they do anything with them

I just hope I dont have to choose another set of moto metal rims. Dont like any of them really. This would be the ony one I remotely like

I am Very pleased with my choice that they allowed. pics of actual wheels will be posted when they arrive.
But details are 17" not sure width but are 8x6.5" Bolt pattern

So you were able to trade the Moto wheels for the Ansen Sprint from American Racing? I really like that vintage look. From what I have found it looks like they are 17 X 9 with a 4.5" back space... Would like to see a few pics when you can. Do they still have the dished look like the old 16.5 x 9.75 wheels had?

KevinI has the 5x4.5" version. I pick mine up tomorrow. WheelPros apparently owns both companies. I had Several wheels to choose from but 90% of them are for these punk kids running rubberbands. Mine are 17x9"
