no reverse lights, 08 2500 4x4

my dad used the truck to move our boat and now I have no reverse lights and it has no fuse for it. all the other lights work fine. so now what should I look for next ? will I have to take it to the dealer to get them fixed ? thanks wes

Check the power distribution center under the hood. I know there are separate fuses for left and right trailer signals....probable something similar for back up lamps.

I would also check the trailer wiring pigtails at the rear bumper/ tail light area.

You may have tripped one of the internal circuit breakers in the Totally Integrated Power Module, or TIPM under the hood. It may require a scan tool to reset it.

both reverse light bulbs were blown and had to have TIPM reset. it had a code for voltage loss to the turbo also. both of them had the same time stamp on them. all of that just for plugging the boat trailer in with the truck running. thanks wes

check the wiring harness going to the actuator on the turbo. they were known to chafe there.
