CRUISE CONTROL ISSUE 08 RAM???? Any Techs Here? - 09/10/13 06:24 PM

08 Ram Hemi 1500 95K miles Love my truck. It just started this--when I turn on Cruise control it comes on once out of 5 times maybe--no green indicator light --no cruise then next time comes right on and is fine
What do I need to Look at??? I recently replaced a front wheel bearing--could I have messed up when I transfered the sensor for the ABS--I noticed it had shims to set the depth of the sensor --or at least that is what it looked like
Thanks!

Clockspring in the steering wheel may need to be replaced. They do wear out in time.

Also, if you are in the habit of always tilting the wheel up/down everytime you get in and out of the truck, some of the electrical wires in the column can break. Especially true if you live in a winter climate. Those wires are very fine and it doesn't take much to break them, it's happened to me. So, have a look inside the column to make sure everything is good.

Clockspring though is a more common cause for intermittent cruise control problems.
