Fast ratio First Generation Dakota rack and pinion?

Was or is there a quick ratio power rack and pinion assembly available for the First Generation Dakota? Can a Viper rack work? Or... can a stock rack be rebuilt for fast ratio. I asked this question on the Dakota forum and got no response's. That may be a bad sign... But, I'd like to know.
