found me another parts truck for my 84

found this 90 model D150, TBI 318 auto, 8 1/4 rear, but the reason I wanted it is for the Core support, Valance panel, factory sway bar, & steering brace

heres the options I found on this truck

90 D150

318 TBI

904 Auto

Tilt column which seems to be solid

Power Windows, A/C, PB, PS yadda, yadda

It didn't have the full inteior panel & headliner package, it had the screw on type that fit the contore of the roof center area

8 1/4 with 2.7 gear ratio!!!!! wow really (dodge & there tall highway gears)

Complete Sway Bar & steering brace which is gonna be transfered to my 84 project

hey dont knock the 2.76 gear in the truck,I was knocking back 19+ mpg with my junkyard 91-318-q-jet/lunati voodoo roller cam/HS-LU 904/8 1/4-2.76 with a 235/75/15

the whiplash roller cam is getting the same or better and has a little more torque and a nasty idle.

granted it takes off like a snail but it has got plenty of topend.

IMHO, with gas price, I will drive a little slower out the hole to get more mpg.

well 2.76 gear is fine on open flat highway, but for around here where I live in east texas we have lots of hills & low gears are a plus for me , I have had enough highway gears with the vehicles I owned in the past 75 318 duster w/2.76, 79 440 D150 w/2.94, 87 dakota 3.9L w/2.76, 81 D150 318 w/2.94, thats why my 98 ram 1500 5.9 mag has 3.91 & my 84 project has a 3.55 suregrip.

OD833 and 3.91s

well Fl is flat and going north is slighly up hill i see your point.

the best all around set up I had was the 3.55 gear with a 235/75/15 tire.

I will be going with the 3.55 and 5 speed and plan to give the 3.91 a try with the 5 speed also.

that's what my '87 had with the warmed over 318. the '88 might
get that rear once the fun of the 3.55s and lower mpg takes
hold. and that parts truck would be a nice driver up here!
