AX15 vs A500 - 07/18/13 05:46 PM

Hello, looking at a Dakota Convertibles and just wondering how hard is the AX15 to shift and how does it compare to the A500 for driving. I found a 4x4 with the AX15 and just want to know if I the clutch is "hard" to engage if that makes sense. I know the newer manuals are fairly easy to press in on the clutch. Also, would the AX15 do better on fuel economy behind a V6 because of the lower OD ratio of 0.84 vs 0.69 for the A500. Thank you in advance.

The AX15 is a pretty easy trans to shift, as far as light duty truck transmissions go. If you don't beat it, it will last nearly indefinitely behind a V6.

It will also get much better mileage than an A500, since it is a manual trans, as opposed to an automatic.
