1996 Dakota LCA bushings - 05/06/13 02:03 PM

I am going to need to replace the LCA bushings. I am not at home and don't have my Haines manual with me. The question is how do you take the tension off of the Torsion bar?

Thanks

The bolt heads face down at you back at trans crossmember area. Probably rusted too. You can't miss the bolts, and can see the threaded upper parts too. (both are backed off by turning counter clock)

Thanks, I watched a Youtube video with two guys redoing a 2002 front end. How tough tough is it to replace the Upper ball joint? It looks to be pressed in.

Thanks

I've only done 4x4's and a 2002 would have the bolt on replacement recall type uppers. I've done lowers on a 2000 4x4 and they were press in IIRC. I purchased the tool with the giant C clamp etc. Works nice.

It did have the recall UBJ. I will have to look at mine when I get home but the replacement UBJs look like the one in my E body.
