1958 D700 VIN.... - 04/10/13 04:13 PM

A friend of mine has found what appears to be a 1958 D700 cab and chassis. We cannot find any serial (VIN) numbers on this thing. I am thinking there should have been a tag on the firewall like my 1954 truck has. Then we started looking on the frame rails for a number but so far no luck.
Anybody out there have any ideas......

Our big Dodge trucks have tags inside the door frame.

I don't know 58s, but 61-71 trucks have a tag on the door pillar and a stamping on the frame. The frame is stamped on the passenger side in the front wheelwell area, usually above the axle or aloser to the bumper. The Canadian trucks are stamped on the driver side closer to the rear axle. The numbers aren't very deep and may require cleaning/scraping.

My 57 had the vin stamped on the left front frame rail about where the bumper bolted.

Hey Guys...found it!! There was a tag in the glove box that we thought may have been correct...It showed the vin and axle ratings etc.
Went looking on the frame some more and found the same numbers stamped on the left side frame rail about a foot ahead of the left rear spring hanger.
Thanks again fellas!!
