Aftermarket exhaust..2001 CTD - 03/02/13 08:14 PM

Whats the best option for these? I have installed many different ones on customers vehicles. The 4" is what I am looking for. The options are just dizzying... Which are you running and why?..

Thanks..

I have run both MBRP and Diamond Eye 4 inch aluminized exhaust systems (sans muffler)on my previous trucks without any issues. Both fit and function well without a lot of drone in the cab.

Do they come with a polished exhaust tip?

I just installed a Dynomax 4" cat back on my 05 today. Took about 10 minutes once I had the old stuff cut off. Pretty much sounds stock though.

I just put a Diamond Eye 4" stainless system on my truck today. Top notch, and affordable.

I still have the stock factory exhaust on my 98.5 24 valve. I like the way it sounds and have thought about changing it out but have wondered if I really will see a performance improvment other than exhaust note? Have you guys noticed any difference in performance with the bigger exhaust systems on your diesels?

There is little to be had as far a performance goes until you get some serious fuel added and a larger turbo with a 4 inch outlet. The factory turbo is the bottleneck.

I run a 4" mbrp on my 01. Couldn't beat the price, got it from jegs because I needed it quick... but some ebay sellers are cheaper. It's about 16 months old, 2 winters and drove pretty much daily. Exhaust almost looks as good as new still.

With no other mods, it will just be for sound.

And cooler EGT's. I have the 4" MBRP straight pipe kit on my '01 and love it. Cheap ($260 or so) and easy to install.

Just lost the tail pipe on my 99 eclb 24v stock engine and turbo, not planning on modifying it.Planning on getting the MPRB 4 inch from turbo back kit without muffler.I understand lower egt's ,but will I lose low end torque? What about drone? And the common price at jeg's and summit is 379.99.Any places cheaper? Thanks

Installed a Diamond eye 4" with muffler on a 2000 CTD, aluminized, was $250 shipped to your door, installed and sounds great to me!
