I know that since i got a 81 core support that I will have to use the 81-85 grill but what about the valance panel? All the listings I seen say they fit 81-90, so I guess they are all the same then?

no not the same for mid 80s trucks
82-85 for early grill surround
86-89 for mid 80s grill surround
90-93 for early 90s grill surround
each have there own valance. IIRC

You can use the 86-90 grill. Its just the headlights are not centered in the bezal opening. I always assumed the balance was the same 81-90 bit was told they changed when the grill did. I never verified myself though
