1972-80 tranny mounts - 01/28/13 05:36 PM
Anyone know a good company that makes transmission mounts for my 1978 W-150? I was hoping to get something urethane or at least heavier duty than the stock rubber. Mine have been soaked in atf for quite some time and now are a soft rubber. Any help would be appreciated.

Bought a transmission mount from this fellow.
http://www.polybushings.com/ Seems a nice guy, part looked to be made well. Truck hasn't left garage since i installed it so i cannot report on usage.

Whoops , on reflection i bought the pair of transfer case mounts, for a 4x4. So maybe this is not the answer if your truck is 2wd.

72-80 should have the spool type mount that is the same as the cars.
Schumacher makes a polyurethane one.

Go back and re read his first sentence. It is for a 4wd.

If your after the cheap way, a couple of hocky pucks. I used them on my 79 RC while waiting on new ones from the dealer. That was in the mid 90's and they were from Canada, do not know if the Chines made NHL ones will work.
