Fel Pro engine gaskets at Home Depot

Fel Pro engine gaskets at Home Depot - 04/04/24 05:32 PM

Looking online for some basic engine gaskets and turns out Home Depot, of all places, has them and can deliver them to your local store. Wonder how long they have been doing this?

They have engine stands and cherry pickers too.

A lot of stores like Walmart, Homedepot etc will sell anything they can just like Amazon, but they all have to be shipped. Nothing in store.

I wonder how well it is working for them?

I was ordering parts for my wife's car earlier today. I was shocked to see I could have order them through Home Depot (I didn't). The same parts from the same manufactures at less then 1/2 of what the parts would cost locally with my discount, and the parts from both the local and the online store would have arrived on the same day. I would rather give the local guy 15 or 20% mark up to keep him in town, but its h ard to justify giving the local guy a 100% mark up to order the same parts I can..

I remember in the early 80s at K Mart you could get brake shoes. And of course, Sears and Roebucks, you could get engines, houses, just about anything.

The websites of brick and mortar stores do drop shipping. I think you can order near anything - go fast goodies and what not thru places like Welfare Mart.

I've often wondered how the return policies are? IE: can you take it back to the store ???
At the return counter:
Hi,
I bought a crate motor on your website and it spun a bearing, where would you like it and can I get some help unloading? 😁

I'm picturing a trail of dripping oil and coolant on one of their HD carts and a millennial at the counter 🙄🎯😂

I think as long as you go in wearing baggy saggy poopy sweatpants- your hair-colored Purple and numerous face piercings they would honor your return ON THE SPOT. You must make yourself look like them- that way they welcome you into the family.

I think they should be more concerned on keeping the stuff they sell on the shelves IN STOCK . I would like to see some of the products they advertise in the store so i wouldn't have to search elsewhere for it or have it shipped. It's the same with the home improvement stores some stores have different product's and you either have to go to that store that has them or order it. I don't buy roofing shingles at a shoe store. If by some chance they can sell it cheaper it may an option but i wonder about if there is an issue how the return process would be like.

Agreed. Went to HD to buy a Fluidmaster Toilet flush valve. There's usually cases of them in stock. This time, not one in the entire store. Lowes had plenty of them.

Re: Fel Pro engine gaskets at Home Depot - 04/08/24 04:15 PM

As strange as it sounds, I needed a starter for my old Generac generator. I was in Germany for work when I got the panicked call from my wife that it was dead.
A little poking around on the web and the only place that seemed to have the starter I needed was...Walmart. I ordered two of them in case one was in-op (online reviews were about 50-50). Got home 3 days later to them sitting on my front porch. I tested both and they worked just fine. I think I ended up paying $17 each for them including shipping. The Generac repair guy wanted over $200 each for them (+ labor).
The best part? They also fit my John Deere, so I have a spare for that if I ever need it.
