Some dealers are knocking $10K-$14K off on hellcats as long as you are OK with a narrow body version. There are some deals out there for sure

My wife and I traded her 14 Charger for a 23 Compass after the first of the year. She's tickled with it, I don't care for it trying to correct your course if you get too close to the center or shoulder line.

Just shut that garbage off. My wife's DD has that crap and I quickly disabled it.

Back in 13 Wife and I went looking for a new car. I wanted a Challenger and she wanted something for the dog to ride in.

Of course the dog won and we got a Compass.

It has been a good car.

Blind spots are bad so I put those little moon mirrors on ours, they help.

Congratulations

According to the salesman the steering correction can't be turned off. The auto engine stop can be,

I personally think all of these "features" should be an adder for people that want the 'nanny' controls. Kind of like the GM commercial for their 'Super Cruise' that allow you to 'arrive at your destination refreshed'. If you need all of these 'features', you probably should not be driving.

The salesman is an incompetent moron who should go back to selling shoes.

Agreed, when my wife gets interested in a certain car and model the sales guys and sales gals need to step aside or stay there and not say anything and just learn. Lot's of customers know more about the car and model they want these days. Do they still have those videos with new model features for the sales staff??? Doesn't seem like it wink. I bought a car from my friend's dealer ship in El Paso for my wife that I was driving back to Ohio. His sales guy starts to point out some of the features and I ask how to activate the GPS? This car didn't have the big screen with the touch screen with icons and he couldn't figure it out. I drove nearly 2,200 miles using my motorcycle's Garmin GPS suction cup stuck to the windshield and didn't bother to take the time and use the owner's manual in the glove box that the salesman could have done or pointed out. It was a simple push of a button to activate the car's GPS, DUH.

Most vehicles allow you to use ADAS(advanced driver assist systems) as you wish. Normally stuff such as lane departure/lane keep assist, blind spot detection etc. can be turned on /off. Read the owners manual! You will likely learn to love stuff such as adaptive cruise control. I have an 18 Mustang GT that's loaded with this stuff...some I have disabled and some(adaptive cruise) I have learned to love....wish I could put it on my other two daily drivers!

When I was a kid I read the owners manual for my 73 Charger, front to back. It was about fifty to sixty 1/4 sheet pages. Fully illustrated it told how to change the tires & oil, how to replace a fuse, safety precautions for towing stuff like that.
Now they are 200 to 300 pages filled with stuff like don't drink the acid in the battery and do not bath in motor oil. realcrazy These manuals today are written by people who hate cars and their owners. laugh2 laugh2

That is probably the reason most people don't read the owners manual anymore. If it's even got a manual, for many cars it's an app on the phone you have to download. puke

i have learned to like it on my Wife's cars. Her Acura RDX can damn near drive it self on the highway, her Durango bounced between stripes for the most part, the Acura can hold it right down the middle.

We have all those fancy features in our Tahoe and it's nice to be able to turn them off. The blind spot detection is nice because it has some pretty bad site lines and in the right spot you're looking over the car that's beside you. The lane assist hasn't been a problem, what I do like about it is it has light that changes color on the dash which is nice in certain weather conditions when it's hard to see the lane (no reflectors in them here and they get pretty faded before they repaint them). The crash avoidance almost makes you have an accident. When someone brakes suddenly infront of you and you're already thinking of that the last thing you need is alarms and red lights flashing infront of your face distracting you.

Some of those safety and driver assist features might be helpful but they also make bad drivers worse because so many of them see to stop paying attention to what they're doing because their car is doing it for them.

Working on wifey's Subaru. Can't believe how many times the manual says something like "This may be difficult to do. Have your Subaru dealer do it". HAH!!! Somebody no smarter than me assembled it, I can get it apart.
