No mention of how higher voltage, higher amps, higher temperatures might shorten battery useful life...

Anything above 77 volts is considered by electrical code as entering the lethal range, as at that point it starts to overcome the natural resistance of dry human skin.
Don't start that age old argument "it's the current" nonsense. Like saying don't go near the water, you may drown, but you take a shower or wash your hands without any concerns.
A car battery has over 600amps at 12 V, and an ignition coil has over 30,000 volts at a minute amount of available current.
We seem to manage 120V daily without too many deaths.
Europe lives daily with 220V in their appliances.
I have seen people accidently touch 125,000+V powerlines and survive (granted without their toes)
As an example of escalation, people can die at ten mph riding their bike, but nobody bats an eye at driving 70 mph on the interstate or flying at 600mph on 737.
Concern over 800V in cars is just more agenda driven propaganda.

Are there any high voltage electric children's bicycles or minibikes out there? Can you trust your children or any children to understand high voltage, How many kids have died from 120 volt household floor level outlets or 120v household items? Just saying that yes adults understand it, well somewhat as we see everyday. Anything over 48 volts is dangerous to human life. Just saying.

Oh and then let's not forget about the battery fire potential in your garage

The article is very sketchy and reeks of pro-ev propaganda, even sounds AI written.

Packing the same amount of energy into a battery in half the time is going to be more "stressful" on the battery and system.

It may be part of the solution but it may be more problems.

I just worry that repeated use of the connection (plug in, plug off) on a daily basis is going to lead to a failure of the plug or the receptacle and guess what? Now someone will say that GFCI's are the answer and they may be. But it's just another piece of hardware to fail at the most inopportune moment.

BTW, if 800 volt is acceptable, why not 1000? Or 1200? Or 1500?
