Re: Need a St Louis person to inspect this car - 08/09/2303:24 AM
I texted a buddy (Greg Knobbe) to see if he knew the car. He said it was in South County (Oakville), he knew that Dan Smith rebuilt the Hemi in it last year. He also knew how much the guy is asking for it, kinda figured that he would.
Dan builds a lot of Mopar engines for the local guys. He built the 572 Hemi that was in the 67 Satellite, the 451 stroker our 69 Dart GTS and lately the 6.4 Hemi that in the wife's 06 Charger Daytona.

His exact words are "It's a decent car, not perfect. But a good tribute.
Though of course you have to keep in mind that Greg even builds his tributes/clones with date coded correct parts.
Greg is supposed to be at the Nats so you can pick his brain about it directly. If we end up in our normal spot we'll be next to the AMC Club. Bill Mabrey's 71 GTX will be there with him trying to sell it.

Thank you! Is he still a member here? He was qwikmopardan I think.
I remember him! He had some fast cars!
He still has some fast cars, the Demon is usually a 10. 0 to high 9's car. His chassis 88 LeBaron is in the 8's. His 79 Chrysler 300 is in the low to mid 11's. His 72 Charger is upper 11's.
All of them except the chassis LeBaron are small blocks.

So I can talk with him at the Nats about the Cuda?

You should be able to. He was talking about driving his Hellcat up there.

You mean his 600k mile Challenger convertible?
It’s been wrecked multiple times over the years.
Hrtbkr is alive and well. Back in show condition to add many more road trip miles going to shows.

Yeah, he’ll be at the Moparty, I’m sure he’s hoping that the GTX will be gone before that so he can drive either the Challenger or the Barracuda he bought.

You can find Greg in the car corral, they brought up their 71 V-Code Challenger to sell. They’re on the left end of the car corral.

Not to hijack the post, but... I still have it. They can do repair wonders these days and you could never tell it's been hit. It's at 634K. Still going strong It would be at the Mopar Nats this weekend, but the '71 GTX has to go (new project in the wings) and the Nats is the place to do it. I'm probably taking the Challenger to the show in Dubuque in a couple weeks.

Find it hard to believe somebody interested in a car at that price wouldn’t jump on a plane, rent a car at the airport and go see it themselves. Probably well less than 7-800 bucks all in for a cheap airfare and a rental car. That way you can’t second guess someone else’s opinion/ thoughts on it.
