Interesting about-face, hope for more of that.
Guessing the 4-banger deal isn't attractive to the big spenders ?

I guess you can't sell what people won't buy. Funny how that works.

Thats no small feat for them to do either as the cars were never designed for them and will all have to re-crash tested and certified. Their buyers sent a clear message I'd say.
Your move, Dodge. (that arent much cheaper than C63 and E63's)

Turbocharged and intercooled small displacement gasoline engines have a small fuel economy advantage
over same horsepower non-turbo engines
in that their BSFC minimum is over a broader range of RPM.
But if the system has an added battery hybrid drive, that also can also “broaden” the best Brake Specific Fuel Consumption range of RPM.
If the richer customer expects a V8 in a premium car,
and the expensive turbo and intercooler cost can be eliminated,
the almost the same EPA MPG window sticker numbers could be gotten.
Does any customer buy an AMG model for better fuel economy?

The C63 went from a naturally aspirated 6.2L to a turbo 4.0L V8. It just went to a 4cyl hybrid - and now they're saying its going back to the TT 4.0L. It was the hybrid 4cyl that turned off the customers
