If it "slipped out of Park", next stop is Reverse...and that car definitely drove forward under power.
I don't think we're getting the whole story there...
What a bummer - that was a pretty car and nicely done.

"Slipped out of park" is right up there with "I swerved to miss a dog."

Most people just lie and say "The car just took off, sudden acceleration, blah blah blah" when what really happened is they stepped on the gas instead of the brake. This issue is largely confined to geezers and drunks.

Knew a guy with a '65 Dodge that was doing a burnout on the pad in front of his garage.

Throttle hung wide open and, instead of killing the engine, he rode the brake all the way in past the first bay and into the second bay and impaled the right front onto the two post lift and his head on the windshield.

Both him and the car were never the same after. eek

Why were they moving the garage?

That's a bummer.

My column shifter linkage is a little sloppy and my driveway is on a hill. A few times I've been in too much of a hurry and stared to get out of the car and whoa!!!....

Yep, blame it on the car, except it ain't..

It happens to "normal" people too - I drive a lot, I even track race... and I experienced a giant dumptruck pulling out RIGHT in front of us with oncoming traffic in the opposing lane, so I veered behind it to its rear and reflexively stomped on the brake because there was other equipment parked there - Except it was the throttle (driving a GFs somewhat unfamiliar MGB). I was conscious of the acceleration, and the time it took to mentally process that I had to let off the gas and step on the brake was the exact amount of time it took to crash into the giant tire of another adjacent earthmover... about three seconds.
