This is a huge mess. Especially since it involves stolen Georgia titles. Better do research if buying, this is messing up business owners as well

Something is screwed up. New vehicles do not have titles. They have a MSO. Manufacturer statement of origin. That has to be run through the secretary of state with dealership RD-108 PAPERS and then a title is issued.

Curious how they are being married with stolen title blanks. After the stolen Nova recovery story emerged, it seems there are serious DMV lapses that play into the hands of thieves and fraudsters.

Not sure how the blame is on Fords and not thieves.

Stop and think; In this day and age, most any document is easy to counterfeit. With a counterfeit MSO, some counterfeit dealership paperwork and a 'new' vehicle, there is no record for the prospective owner or bank or license facility to find to indicate anything out of the ordinary. Stealing the trucks in the first place would have been the toughest part. The states probably don't even check the 'hot sheet' for new production vehicles still on an MSO.

Ingenious bastards.

I'm not sure myself, but this isn't a good look if true.

According to an article, the Georgia titles were produced using stolen blank titles. Nothing was likely ever forwarded (MSO, etc.) to any higher up govt agency for proper recording. Print them up, hand them to the AZ DMV.

Same as the blank broadcast sheets that float around. they were never filled in at chrysler, but, somehow they show up filled in later in time.
