Ow - 04/13/23 10:24 PM

I rewired the brake pedal switch this afternoon, and found that contorting myself under the dash isn’t as fun as it was maybe forty years ago. But I didn’t have to call 911 to get back out.

there are a lot of positions I used to be able to get into that now raise real concerns as I get older. But at least we are getting older... beer

Last year I had to change the master cylinder in my e body. I had to pull the seat out and it was still very difficult. I just don't bend like I used to. I also had to put my glasses on upside down. Some of you know what I'm talking about.

Don't feel bad, CRS can strike at any age. laugh

I was 20 when I spent several minutes sorting through my cluttered workbench with my right hand, looking for a roll of solder, before I realized I was holding it in my left hand whistling

Yeah when I finish putting my Savoy together this time it will be the last time. This is the way it will be until my family sells it when I'm gone. That sounds pretty grim and I'm only 60 realcrazy

About 40 years ago when I was by far the youngest guy in our tooling department I walked in one morning and everyone was standing together and looking up,. I looked up at the ceiling and didn't see anything interesting so I asked what everyone was looking at. They were reading the vacation schedule on the bulletin board and they all had bifocals on.

https://www.amazon.com/Stretching-Anatomy-Arnold-G-Nelson/dp/1492593648

The above book is the best one on stretching,
and the really excellent artwork shows you clearly what and why you are stretching it.

After my Mom’s right side stroke in 2018 I “learned the hard way” that lifting a 120 lb person from a wheelchair and up onto a hospital bed needed to be done “just so” or there would be suddenly two disabled persons in the house.

My two brothers and I apparently inherited easy to injure shoulders from one or both parents, as well as the all too common back limitations.

Stretching the right muscles, tendons and ligaments for a minute or two before,
sure beats the “after” of hurting for two weeks.

I am not into believing the Hindu religion part of Yoga,
but a lot of those ancient Yoga “poses”
seem to be good stretching science.

If I have to be in the floor under the dash I pull the seat first.

add in things like MS [which i have been dealing with for years] and it's harder still.
however, there are guys out there with worse issues. they need WAY more attention than i do, so those are the ones to focus on, not me.

and to think, for the last several months, i have been threatening to write down my old man's "sayings" that are so prevalent to life in general...........
such as : "That dumb ba$tard is so dumb, he don't even know he left the house yet !........." [after seeing someone he knew on the street, or after overhearing or participating in, a conversation]
i gotta get that done before i croak !!! but i need to carry a pad and pen with me at all times, because they only come to me in spurts. and when i try to remember them, i cant.........
and Vertigo is NOT good ! down sorry you have to deal with that !
