Re: My new project - 02/25/23 08:08 AM

I remember it being offered for sale for 18,5k $

very solid car.

I woul leave it alone and NOT clearcoat it.
Unless it is supposed to sit outside for 365 days a year.

How do you clean these aluminum slots? Any secrets?

Patina is in. I left my Roached Runner as is. I didn't even bother to clear coat it.

If you want them bleached out white then use aluminum wheel cleaner/wheel acid.

If you want them polished to look reflective then you have to buff them out with mag wheel polish like Mothers etc. Once you polish them you have to keep doing it every so often to maintain the shine otherwise they will slowly revert back to dull. If you daily drive them and they get wet, dirty often then you'll have to do more polishing upkeep. If it's a sunny day only cruiser then the shine will last much longer.

I wouldn't clean them. They look great with the current patina IMHO

Nice grab, I hadn't been For B Bodies for a while when I saw this car. I'm the last poster to ask where he was located in Kansas.

The car was in Wichita Kansas. I gave 17,000 for it. Really solid car with original paint. Just a small spot behind driver side rear wheel.
